Plastics and microplastics are a health and environmental problem of unimaginable proportions. The cosmetic industry is responsible for tonnes of plastic ending up in the sea every year. This is not just packaging waste – the products themselves contain plastic, in both solid and liquid form.
As soon microplastic flows down the drain and finds its way into groundwater, then the sea, it becomes a major problem. We know that tiny pieces of plastic attract toxins. Plastic should never have a place in care products, and this should apply to everyone. At PHARMOS NATUR, we are all committed to this principle, so our Green Luxury natural cosmetics contain absolutely no microplastics, to protect the environment, nature, and ourselves. All sea creatures, fish, crabs, mussels and many other species, consume microplastics directly in their food, which harms them as many plastics contain toxic additives.
These toxins include solvents, softeners and other chemical substances. This doesn’t just affect marine life, but passes up the entire food chain to us too. Fish eat microplastics, then we eat the contaminated fish – because once the tiny particles are in the sea, it is impossible to remove them. There will soon be more microplastic in the sea than plankton. Yet 60% of the oxygen in our atmosphere is produced by marine plankton, and without oxygen there is no life. At the same time, plankton metabolises 70% of carbon dioxide. The basis of marine life is threatened, with drastic consequences for humankind, nature and the environment.

Our cosmetic products are certified by NCS and EcoControl under the Natural Cosmetics Regulation. In addition, PHARMOS NATUR Green Luxury refuses to use alcohol, citric acid, parabens or phenoxyethanol as preservatives.

Due to the tropical climate and potent energy in Ecuador, the plant develops a special viscosity – a sort of stickiness – in its gel, consisting of highly complex and invaluable mucopolysaccharides. You may already know about acemannan and aloeverose, but there are many others.
