There are journeys that are more than a change of place. They touch something deeper within us. Our trip to the south of Mexico, to Yucatán and Campeche, was exactly that: a reconnection. With a land that holds immense power. With people who feel close to our hearts. And with the plant at the very center of Pharmos Natur: the sacred Aloe Vera. Yucatán — a landscape of light, mysticism, and fertility.
Southern Mexico is a region full of contrasts. Fertile red soil, wild-growing jungle, tropical climate, intense sunlight - and right in the middle of it all: the people who live here in deep harmony with nature. It’s a place shaped by the energy of ancient cultures, most notably the Maya. Their wisdom, their rituals, their understanding of healing and time still define the spirit of life today.
Our proximity to the majestic Maya site of Edzná is more than coincidence. It is a quiet symbol — of origin and transformation, of connection and transcendence. What is inscribed in these stones lives on in the people, and in the way they care for their plants.
Our Aloe Vera Fields: Vibrant Biodiversity in Tune with Nature
Our fields are located near Edzná, where papaya, hibiscus, acerola, and herbs grow both wild and cultivated. It is here that our sacred Aloe Vera plants thrive. What strikes us immediately is the vibrancy of this place.
Because here, nothing is conventionally produced. Everything is cultivated with care. In ecological mixed cultures. In harmony with the seasons. Without pesticides, without artificial irrigation, with deep experience and the understanding that true healing plants — sacred plants — can only unfold their full power where they are seen, understood, and respected.
The families we work with embody this approach. They plant, harvest, sort — and they sense. They know when a plant is ready. Their work is not just agriculture. It is a ritual act.
Home of Biophotons: Why Our Aloe Vera Is More Than Just an Ingredient
What makes our Aloe Vera so special is not just its purity or the richness of its nutrients. It is its vitality. These plants are full of biophotons.
Biophysicist Fritz-Albert Popp discovered that living cells emit light — so-called biophotons. These subtle light particles act as carriers of information. They regulate cell communication and promote order within the organism. Plants with a high biophoton content are considered particularly vital, alive, and healing.
Small farming families process our sacred Aloe Vera fresh, directly after harvest, and in its entirety at our own production facility in Campeche. Because we firmly believe: truly healing products do not come from isolated substances — they arise from wholeness.
Our Own Production: For Transparency, Quality, and Appreciation
Our own production facility, located close to our fields, is the heart of our holistic approach. Here, the gel from freshly harvested Aloe Vera leaves is carefully extracted by hand at moderate temperatures. Step by step, mindfully, using a process we developed ourselves.
This gives us full control over purity and quality, while also enabling direct partnership with the local people. It allows us to create fair working conditions, short supply routes, and genuine collaboration.
We don’t see our partners as mere suppliers. They are part of our vision. And their way of life inspires us — as a model for a different kind of economy, one based on cycles, mindfulness, and responsibility.

For me personally, every trip to Campeche feels like coming home. I feel deeply connected to this country - to its light, its rhythm, and its people. Surrounded by healing plants and grounded hearts in the vastness of the tropics, my body remembers something ancient, something essential.
This journey reminded me once again that at Pharmos Natur, we don’t just make “products.” We translate nature into care - into Holistic Skincare, Holistic Beauty & Holistic Health products. We pass on light. And we aim to contribute to a world where healing, beauty, health, and responsibility are deeply interwoven.
