I trusted my inner voice. The birth of Pharmos Natur.
There are experiences in life that change everything from one second to the next. An accident with severe burns was such a pivotal moment for me. What followed was a healing phase in which nothing happened quickly—except the realization that I needed to look at my life differently.
A fateful encounter. Aloe Vera
Through a fortunate circumstance, I found myself in a naturopathic clinic at that time. There I encountered an extraordinary plant: Aloe Vera. And for the first time, I understood very directly what regeneration truly means—when the living power of plants supports body, mind, and soul from within and without in finding their way back to themselves. Today, looking back on 40 years of Pharmos Natur, it has become clear to me where it all began. In a phase marked by pain and patience, something returned that I could hardly grasp at first, yet immediately recognized: certainty and orientation.
Female Power. The moment that became a decision
It became clear to me: I could not continue the way I had before. I re-examined my path, allowed questions, and made decisions that had consequences. Step by step, the decision matured within me to leave my former life in the pharmaceutical industry behind and start my own company. Behind this was a deep desire to bring something meaningful into the world. To work with plants. To promote regeneration. With a quality that is transparent and traceable. For me, Female Power reveals itself precisely in this: conviction, consistency, and responsibility. And then something happened that many would call coincidence. Doors opened. Opportunities arose. I wanted to understand why things fall into place, and I returned to what had shaped me until then: scientific care, effectiveness, and careful observation. The spirit of research remained. The direction changed. I asked myself what conditions plants truly need so that their power can be preserved. And how this quality can be processed in such a way that its effect becomes tangible in the final result?
From the Pharmaceutical Industry to the Plant as a Whole
My experience in the pharmaceutical industry was an important school for me. It taught me to work precisely, to examine relationships between effects, and to make quality transparent and traceable. At the same time, it became increasingly clear to me that what truly interested me were plants as a whole: their interaction, their inner order, their vitality. Aloe Vera became the guiding plant because it showed me how powerful a plant can be when cultivation, harvesting, and processing are in harmony. And with that, a search began that continues to this day: a search for the conditions under which the power of plants can be preserved, and for ways to bring this vitality into a form that truly reaches people.
The Beginning of Pharmos Natur in Munich
In 1986, I founded Pharmos Natur in Munich together with two colleagues. On March 1st, six Aloe Vera products for sensitive skin were launched in pharmacies. At that time, such a pure and natural skincare line was unusual for many pharmacies. For people with sensitive skin, however, it quickly became a discovery. What emerged back then was more than just a product line. It was a philosophy: to respect plants as a living whole and to develop skincare from their power that connects inner and outer wellbeing. Organic Aloe Vera whole leaf juice instead of water became the key, because for me quality always begins at the foundation. From the very beginning, there was a wish that continues to guide me to this day: balance. Beauty, health, and wellbeing as one unity. What I have learned is this: Female Power reveals itself when we find direction again after life’s disruptions and take ourselves seriously. That is when something new can emerge.
