The Babaco papaya is a rare fruit from the high altitudes of the Ecuadorian Andes. At around 3,500 meters, it grows on mineral-rich volcanic soil under special climatic conditions. This particular papaya species is found exclusively in Ecuador worldwide.

Our Babaco fruits come from careful cultivation by local smallholder families who have passed down their knowledge of the plant for generations. Each fruit is harvested by hand – at the optimal ripeness and with great care.

In some regions of Ecuador, the Babaco papaya is traditionally particularly valued and has long been integrated into the daily diet. During its ripening, the fruit develops its characteristic aroma and naturally contains plant-based enzymes such as papain

BABACOVERA® consists of 90% green Babaco papaya and 10% finely ground Carica papaya seeds. The fruit powder is gently processed and retains its natural plant structure.

It naturally contains fiber as well as plant-based components such as enzymes and secondary plant compounds that are typical for papaya fruits.
