My Search for the Right Aloe Vera

Companion planting, peak ripeness and mindful craftsmanship
After about ten years, the experiences converged into a clear picture: particularly high-quality Aloe Vera grew in the humid tropical climate of Mexico, Cuba, Colombia, and Ecuador. Fertile soils, mixed cropping, sufficient growth time, and careful manual labor were crucial.
Three years of maturation proved essential for the plant to fully develop its diverse active ingredients. Another key lies in ecological mixed cropping. It strengthens soil life and plants simultaneously. Rain can be stored, dry seasons can be better compensated for, and a healthy microclimate is created. Quality always develops through the interplay of many factors.
Quality is not just created during processing. It begins in the soil, in the climate, in the ripening period, and in the mindful relationship with the plant.
Local people shape quality
The local people are also part of this story. Small farming families and long-standing partners play a decisive role in shaping the quality. Their knowledge of soils, climate, and harvest times has grown over generations. This collaboration creates reliability, diligence, and respect. For Pharmos Natur, this is precisely part of a quality that begins long before processing.
Experience meets research
Later, Aloe Vera plants from different growing regions were examined together with research partners. The collaboration with biophysicist Fritz Albert Popp was particularly influential. His light measurements scientifically confirmed what had long been apparent in practice: plants from Mexico and Ecuador showed an exceptionally high quality. Classic laboratory analyses also documented the diversity of ingredients. Observation, experience, research, and practice came together step by step.
Decision for Mexico and Ecuador
Ultimately, the decision was made for Mexico and Ecuador. Today, we are back in Yucatán, in the Mayan region. There, many insights from decades of experience come together. Therefore, Pharmos Natur's Aloe Vera does not have an accidental origin. It carries a history. A consistent search for quality, vitality, and responsibility. This very self-conception still shapes our work today.
