The market in Aloe is booming. From cheap cosmetics via washing-up liquid to tights, a wide variety of products now claim to contain “Aloe Vera”. However, this is often not borne out by the facts. On the one hand, the real Aloe Vera content in these products is negligible. On the other hand, the products usually do not contain genuine pure Aloe Vera (which is only the gel of the Aloe Vera plant), but only automatically pressed plants with all the leaf rind and harmful aloin it contains. Currently, the media is reporting yet again on “Aloe Vera and its risks”. Unfortunately, the media tends to ignore the incredible abilities that real Aloe Vera possesses when it is properly cultivated, well treated and properly processed. We know that nature can heal, but this is simply disregarded here as the negative publicity serves the interests of lobbyists related to the pharmaceutical industry.
Quality makes an effective difference. This is because Aloe is not the same as Aloe Vera! Aloe simply refers to the leaf rind with the anthraquinone derivatives it contains, which are commonly known as aloin. The pharmaceutical industry uses this anthraquinone in laxatives, and of course we all know that the intensive use of laxatives can damage the intestines.
1. We use pure Aloe Vera plant gel without aloin/anthraquinone derivative content. To ensure this, we adhere to time-consuming, quality-maintaining and costly manual harvesting. The leaf rind is removed by hand, with all its constituents, and then the gel is harvested. This is the only way that we can guarantee a 100% unadulterated product.
2. Basically, the aloin protects the plant from animal grazing, dehydration and pest infestation. If, however, the Aloe Vera plants produce more rind than gel due to adverse climatic growth conditions, then the plant itself suffers major stress and develops a disproportionate amount of aloin in the leaf rind for its own protection. This occurs, for example, in a field in gigantic mono-cultivation when Aloe Vera plants are cultivated in dry climate zones (3 months of dryness in summer, and wet and cold conditions in winter).
3. For this reason, PHARMOS NATUR has for many years carried out growing trials in various parts of the world in the search for the right cultivation areas which fulfil all the requirements that promote the healthy growth of the plant. We found these optimal growth conditions:
The gel is then harvested by hand from each individual Aloe Vera leaf. The gel fillet is subsequently processed, only in Germany, according to a method specially developed by PHARMOS NATUR, producing our 100% pure Aloe Vera raw organic juice. We also only use this Aloe Vera raw organic juice, instead of water, in our natural cosmetics products.
Specialised laboratories check the quality for our own assurance, thus enabling us to guarantee it to all customers. Due to this fact, we have been collaborating for over a decade with cancer clinics, including the University Hospital of Bonn – in the field of paediatric oncology – under the direction of Professor Bode, and with the former Leonardis Clinic under the direction of Dr Albert Scheller.
Here is an interview on YouTube (DE):
Most producers of Aloe Vera products press and/or pulverise the entire leaves – including the rind – and automatically “filter out” the contaminants, such as aloin, via a harsh filtration process, insofar as this is possible at all. This means, however, that many important and beneficial ingredients of the Aloe Vera plant are lost in the process, thus also changing its mode of action.
This is why PHARMOS NATUR harvests every single leaf gently and carefully by hand. No machine is able to replace this form of harvesting. PHARMOS NATUR produces and uses only 100% pure, aloin-free Aloe Vera raw organic juice.
